Bentley
Bentley is a taller, mainly black/grey, rough coat JR/Patterdale terrier mix aged 6yrs.
He has come to us as his family could no longer take care of him and is now looking for a new home. Sadly he has been in and out of shelters and homes, and is looking for just the right patient and loving new family.
He is a gentle and soft soul who needs to meet his new family.
He can be a little nervous at first of new people but quickly warms to gentle kindness.
People interested in Bentley would need to be prepared to visit him a few times at our shelter.
He is not a cuddly dog, he will need time and patience to get to know new people and any visitors in the home.
He knows to sit politely for a treat and enjoys his walk on lead. Bentley needs someone who is home most of the time and a fully enclosed, colourbond fenced yard, perhaps even an enclosed run for his safety.
Bentley needs a safe and secure home with a family experienced and confident with the JR Breed, as his mix of terriers are bred as energetic hunters it is essential his new family are willing to work with him to manage the tenacious nature of terriers.
He is best suited to a family without children, and people who have a quieter home without a lot of visitors which are coming and going as he is wary of unfamiliar people. He will be too much for some older people.

Elizabeth
Elizabeth is a taller tan and white, smooth coat female, medium sized mixed breed, aged 4yrs
She has come to us as her family could no longer take care of her and is now looking for a new loving home.
Elizabeth was born in the care of RSPCA and came to JRR as a newborn pup with her mother, a mixed breed and littermates(Walton’s litter).
She was adopted at 8wks but is now back in our care.
She is very timid meeting new people but, with patience and gentle encouragement she is a happy and loving girl. She may need multiple visits to get to know you. She knows to sit for a treat and really looks forward to them so this will help with her continued training.
She is now looking forward to small walks and is getting used to the lead with more confidence everyday. She is probably best as the only dog in the family at this stage
Elizabeth is looking for a new home without young kids, teenage/adult children who can understand to give her the time she needs to gain trust.
We think she needs a family who have had experience with rescue dogs before, and who have the time and patience to do positive reinforcement training with a routine rewards and treats.
We would love to see her blossom with people who will include her as part of the family.

Kojo & Toko
Kojo is a tiny black and white smooth coat mini Fox Terrier mix female aged 6mths
Toko is a taller boy, black and white broken coat mini Fox Terrier mix, male aged 12 mths
They have come to us as their family didn’t have the time for them and are now looking for a new home together
Kojo is tiny and a little overwhelmed at first, quickly warming to gentle kindness, loves a lap and to be held.
Toko is jumpy, and loves to get all the attention first. Often shoving little Kojo out of the way. They both dote on each other and are sweet natured.
They have lived both indoors and outdoors. They eat out of the one bowl, and it’s important to watch that Kojo gets her share. Both dogs were underweight on arrival but have filled out in our care.

Teddy
Teddy is a black and white, broken/rough coat male Parson Russell Terrier aged 9 yrs.
He has come to us due to illness in the family and is now looking for a new home
Teddy has lived his life as a show dog and has lived in kennels. He is capable of learning to enjoy living an indoor/outdoor life. He is larger in size and personality than a JR so interested people need to be aware of this.
He can be a little snatchy with treats and he stands instead of sitting. He walks beautifully on lead.
Teddy will make a great companion for someone looking for an older dog, who have the time to give him, with a secure yard and without children under 12.
He may be too much for some young children and older people.

Jack
Jack is a taller, smooth coat, tan and white JR aged 5
He has come to us from another shelter where he was unclaimed and is now looking for a new home.
Jack’s past hasn’t been kind to him, he is wary at times, unsure of the lead and has spent some time in shelters.
However, he is quiet in his run, knows to sit for a treat, can beg and does enjoy a quiet walk. He is willing to please and wants to love and be loved.
People interested in Jack would need to be able to come to meet him at our shelter and perhaps make multiple visits so he can get to know them. They would need experience with the JR breed and have had rescue dogs before.
He will need a secure home and yard, with an adult family and people who will be patient as he learns to trust. He is not suitable to children and some older people.
